Imperfection
You stood blankly facing your own self in the mirror. There was not a single strand of thread on your skin. And your mind was filled with dissatisfaction, exasperation and jealousy. You closed your eyes trying so hard to drive away the images of perfection you create. You have lost your count on how much you've told your friends to be thankful for who they are, yet will you still catch myself mourning on your own self.
You assume that it might be easy for other girls to live a pleasant life with their perfection. Earning good grades at school, being the most beautiful girl in a community, simply living a prima donna life. You might walk on the way home, or sitting at the back seat of a cab or a bus, fighting back your tears. Sometimes you even wonder what brings you to tears. All you know, is that he has chosen her over you, people who aren't trying achieve higher goals, your best friend casts you away. You don't know which part of your doing is so wrong. You don't have the courage to proclaim the beautiful dreams you have to the outside world. And so you hold them back to yourself, keeping them safe in your weary chest, securely locking it. Because those dreams will nakedly reveal your incapabilities and imperfection.
Perfection
In a boutique shop, you ask a shopkeeper lady if they have got your dream flower pattern dress. The lady then pulled out dozens of bright color dresses from the stockroom. You then think of the imperfection of your arms size or thighs. You think about whether or not the dress will expose your pear-like hips—at least that's what people call you. But then you spot a perfect dress of your favorite color, strapless and above your-knee length. Your confidence and boldness then led you to the fitting room carrying the dress. You then stood merrily in front of your own reflection thinking to yourself:
It looks beautiful on you!
You spent hours behind your PC cramming for next week's exam. And the grade you received was far below your expectation. But then you realized that you've fought a good fight, and that's all that matters. If you've done your best, then there is nothing to be regretful of. Although you haven't put your best effort, don't be afraid to get up and make some improvements. There is nothing wrong with being afraid, as long as your fear does not hold you back from reaching your dreams. You were sad, disappointed, angry and afraid of your imperfections, of people's labels on you. But you finally decided to make them a fuel to set the flame inside you and start all over again, just like in the very beginning; just even greater, stronger!
For in imperfection we value improvisation and improvement. That's why people who are imperfect possess stronger hearts of perseverance and humility. Someday, they will even rise up stronger than everybody else they thought to be perfect. In fact, people who claim themselves perfect, live in the most grotesque humans condition. And so nobody is to judge one another with their level of perfection, because truth is, nobody is perfect.
